The national Top Technician competition for 2008 is open for entries. Technicians can be nominated, or can nominate themselves, via the web site www.toptechnician.co.uk
Entrants will be sent details of how to access the first stage on-line test. The deadline for completing this test is Friday 18 January 2008.
Every year the Top Technician competition inspires the UK's best technicians to learn more about the latest technology. It also generates significant publicity for employers of the skilled and enthusiastic contenders.
Those who score highest in the on-line test will be invited to benchmark their knowledge with Diagnostic Level Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA). A second on-line test follows for those who achieve ATA status and 12 finalists will be selected for a practical live final at Workshop 2008, which will be held at the NEC, Birmingham, next April.
The winner of Top Technician 2008 will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in June and will receive a tax-free prize of £2,500, plus free tickets for a day of technical advice and training, sponsor gifts and priceless publicity for his or her place of work.
Top Technician 2008 is sponsored by Bosch, Comma Oil & Chemicals, EuroCarParts, NGK and Snap-on Tools. The competition’s technical partner is ATA.
